I was in my adagio payables (version 8.1A,) I had posted a batch and went to print cheques and the following error message appeared:

Critical error 1011 insufficient rights to create file in data directory.

I can open the ledger but not the payables, I tried to sign in with the SYS login but it does not work either same error message come up...we have 8 other company files and I can get into all the other companies except this one. Any suggestions?

Hi Teresa,

Does this thread help at all? You did mention version 8.1A, but just in case...

Adagio Payables 81B upgrade error

There was a previous problem where some data files had incorrect network rights associated with them. The solution after the error occured was to ensure that full rights are available on all data files.

Another reason for this error is that data files are missing or that a temporary file wasn't cleared properly some time ago and now a new process cannot create a new temporary file to overwrite it. This scenario is data-dependant which is why other data sets would work fine. Try running a data integrity check and see if this finds any problems.

Thanks, I was going to run a data integrity check, but it will not let me do anything in the system. I did a backup on Jan 29th and this is the first time I was using the file since so it is probably best to restore the data from the backup and run a integrity check then to see if anything comes up.

Teresa

I restored from backup and ran a data integrity check and no errors just must have been some anomaly.
