Is there any way to enter only a Department, without a corresponding Dept number in the default in Vendor Information? We would rather it be blank then the wrong dept code, and it's not of much use if we can't just use the Acct field without validation on the Dept part. Thanks!

We did put in the AP hot fix but it still wants to validate in the vendor GL account code field when creating a vendor. Possibly the only solution is to make the hot fix hotter, or to move the GL data to a subfolder.

The account validation was defined just for batch entry, not for editing vendors or distributions or distribution sets.

Can you not just leave a valid acct-dept pair on the vendor record and then change to the desired acct and dept within batch entry? It's the same number of keystrokes as leaving either the acct or dept blank on the vendor record.
