We were having server problems - I was in ledger and had created a new batch to enter payroll for P/E 1-12-10. My batch would not print or post. I now have a message saying the only option I have in ledger is to do an integrity check. I have done this - it now says I have 23 errors. What steps do I need to do to get my ledger balances correct?

Hi, FVL,

What version of GL are you running? Make sure you make a backup of your Ledger data and rerun DIC. When it's finished running, click Rebuild. Whether or not, it comes back saying there are no errors, run DIC again. If it reports more errors, click Rebuild again.

If after running the DIC/Rebuild a few times, errors are not all fixed, you will either have to restore from a backup of your data from prior to the posting error or seek a database repair. In both cases, you may want to consult with your Adagio consultant first.

Hi Andrew: I'm currently using the 8.0D version of GL. We're having to change our accounting packages to GTS - will do so 4-1-10. They will no longer be able to work with Adagio software.

Also, I just tried the data int. check/rebuild process three times. Still shows 23 errors (1-19-10 - 3:15 pm)

You are mistaken about GTS. For clarification, and perhaps to express any complaints you might have about GTS' decision, you should contact Erik Miller (erikm@gtsservices (503) 684-5066 x290) their head of R&D, and/or the president, Mike Jones (mikej@gtsservices) who have assured me that they have no plans to remove any support for the previously running versions of Adagio from their product.

Our current version of Adagio is still capable of retrieving the transactions that GTS generates. The only functionality you would lose would be the ability to automatically synch changes in the customer information between systems. Is updating the customer name and address information manually as onerous as completely changing your accounting software?

Unfortunately, when your computer crashes while posting a batch, often the only option is to either have the data repaired professionally for a fee, or restore to a backup copy and re-enter the work that was lost.

GTS lead us to believe that this was our only option. Not changing would certainly be alot easier and less stressful.

What do you suggest that I do about our situation? How could I find out what was posted to the accounts on the day that it crashed?

GTS is misleading you. Please get the name of the person at GTS who told you that GTS will no longer work with Adagio and contact Erik and Mike (see Andrew's post above) and complain to them that someone at their company is at best misinformed and at worst lying.

Hopefully GTS will issue a statement to their installed Adagio base clearing up this confusion.

As for your corrupted GL, if you have a backup from before the corruption, I can rebuild from that backup. It doesn't have to be that current.

Hi Steve: I have a back-up from 1-14-10. Everything from Receivables from 1-14-10 is still there waiting to be retrieved into GL. Let me know when you might be able to perform with work.

Thanks,
FVL

Not sure who I need to talk to - I restored my GL information from our back-up tape. When I checked to see if the information was correct, the GL is showing transactions from 2006-2007. I still need help in the situation. Please let me know what I can do.

Also, thought you would like to know - GTS would not give me any support on this problem.

Thanks,
FVL
