Hi there,

Happy New Year...

I installed the AP 8.1 B upgrade, it works fine on my machine, but on another machine the person gets this error…

I attached a .jpg file to show you th error message.

she is not able to open Vendor files.

Hi Andreas. YES, other people have experienced the same problem following the upgrade to AP 8.1B. It seems to be a rights issue with the APVEND files. Try this first: Make sure that you have rights to change rights. Go to your Adagio data folder and right click on the folder. Select properties and go to the security tab and hit advanced under the Permissions section.

There is an option there to replace permissions on child objects. Turn this on and hit Apply.

I had exactly this problem at another Montreal-based client just before Christmas and this fixed it.

My thanks for finding this solution go to two other Adagio consultants, Ryan Brohman and Pete Banfield as well as Softrak Tech Support.

If the above does not fix the problem, I can go to your office tommorrow.

Andreas, I am glad that it all worked out well. I think this is more of a Microsoft issue that an Adagio issue. The reason that you never had this problem in the past is the same reason that you will probably never have it in the future: Adagio is, in my humble opinion, the most stable, bug-free and best supported accounting software on the market.

Hello Andreas,

Adagio Payables V8.1B included some changes that we made for compatibility with Windows 7 that caused a problem at some sites depending on their security settings.

We have identified and fixed the issue and a System Updater is available for download off our web site. Please make sure to review the Release Note prior to installing the System Updater.

We would recommend that all sites install the updater, regardless of whether they actually ran into this issue. It will be incorporated into all subsequent Adagio Hot Fixes, Upgrades and Service Packs.

We apologize for the inconvenience this issue caused.
