I just did an import of data into our inventory module. Normally I would check first to ensure everyone is out, as previously no one could be in a module before I imported data. Today I skipped that step and was able to import. It was only after the import went off without anything checking me that I looked to see if anyone else was in that module. There was another user in inventory.

Isn't this a bit dangerous? Or has something radically changed now? It made sense to me that if someone was using a module, you could not import. Am I worrying for nothing? Is it now okay to import when other people are accessing data?

Hi Barb,

If someone was editing an item when an import was attempted then the import process would give a warning that the other user was doing something to prevent the import. If the other user just had Inventory open but not doing anything then the import can be performed.

I don't believe there is any reason to be worried. From what I can find, this isn't new behaviour.
