Dear Mike

Great to hear from you! Hope all is well!

There are a couple of reasons why you may be having this problem on the station that is trying to refresh or otherwise print a report. Here are some suggestions:

1. Was QRWIN installed to the Server from the PC that is having the problem? If not, did you do a workstation setup on this PC? You must perform a workstation setup on each station that needs to run QRWIN in order to install the necessary reporting files to it's local hard drive. The only exception to this would be the PC that you actually did the original install to the Server from.

2. Does this PC have any other software installed that uses Crystal? Known problems occur in this setting when printing and/or editing or creating new formulas if so. For example, ACCPAC for Windows or Maximizer use Crystal, so some files in this directory will be different and can cause conflicts. If this is the case, here are the known workarounds:

a) If you cannot edit a formula or a selection formula without getting a GPF, rename the UFLCAPW.DLL (and/or U2lcapw.dll) in the Windows\Crystal directory while you are using QRW. This file is installed by AFW and it is not compatible with QRW 62A or 62B.

(UFLCAPW.DLL adds these Additional functions to Crystal: PrintNonNull, TranslateType, pwFormatDate, pwFormatTime, LookUpString, SaveNumber, GetBankTotal, TrimZeros, IsTrue.)

b) If you are receiving "Error 515, error in formula" when you print reports in QRW - rename the UFLDTDIF.DLL in the Windows\Crystal directory while you are using QRWIN. (This file is installed by AFW and it is not compatible with QRW 62A or 62B. UFLDTDIF.DLL adds this Additional function to Crystal: DateTimeDiff.)

When you need to use QRWIN or A4W reports again, you may have to rename these files back to their original extension. Some people create a couple of batch files to do this to make it easier. Alternatively, you could just rename the whole Crystal Directory and reinstall QRWIN(a new Windows\Crystal dir will be created that will hold ONLY the files necessary to run QRWIN. Then, you could just create the batch files to switch between the Crystal directories.

3. When you installed QRWIN, did you have network rights to do so? Were you logged in as the Admin or as the user of this PC?

4. Can another PC run the report ok?

5. Check the version of the crpe.dll file in your Windows\System directory. It should have the following properties:

File Version: 4.0.1.5
Modified Date: October 2, 1995
Size: 1.36 MB

If this file is not the same version or size, try reinstalling QRWIN again to the Server from this PC (possibly another application installed a newer version of this file and this one got overwritten, or perhaps this file did not get installed properly (if at all)). Make sure you are logged on as the User of this PC, and even if you have to grant temporary rights, ensure this User has full rights to install software from this PC. RENAME the crpe.dll file BEFORE reinstalling.

Even if the file does have the correct properties, perhaps it has become damaged. Rename the original crpe.dll anyway, then reinstall QRWIN just in case.

Hope this helps!
