Inventory items all have 5 lots.

We are noticing in one of our items that Lot 1 has a Receipt Number, the date of the Receipt, but Quantity on Hand is zero, and the total cost is zero. Lot 2 is the same sort of thing, receipt number, date of receipt and zero on hand, zero cost. Lot 3 has no receipt date, no receipt number, and zeroes for qty on hand and cost. Lot 4 has actual quantities and costs, as does Lot 5. Why are Lots 1, 2, and 3 not disappearing? Shouldn't Lot 4 and 5 have already become Lots 1 & 2? How do we fix this?

Should also add we are working on Inventory Module 8.1B. AND I have run a DI check to no avail.

If a costing lot is adjusted or transferred to, then I beleive older versions of Adagio Inventory would remove the receipt number and date, as the lot no longer reflects amounts strictly from that receipt.

I believe this restriction was lifted in the most recent release of Adagio Inventory 81B, but of course any items previously affected could not have the receipt numbers and dates restored.

It was my understanding that when a lot was "empty" of inventory, it would disappear. This is not happening now. I have Lot 1 with a receipt number and a receipt date, but zero quantities. Lot 2 is the same way, and Lot 3 has zeros as well. Lot 4 and lot 5 have inventory in them. When do they move up the line and become Lots 1 and 2? What happens when I receive another batch of items in for this code? Do they just mush in with Lot 5?

What makes Lot 1,2,3 "available for use" now?

Are you using LIFO or FIFO? Can you tell whether costing lots were emptied by shipments or adjustments or stock transfers? Could receipts for 0 qty and cost have been posted?
How do you ship stock, via Order Entry, Adagio Invoices or IC shipments?

When a costing lot is emptied by shipment, it should be deleted. All remaining lots should get 'moved up' when appropriate (ie FIFO). Certainly OE Day End processing does this after an item has been shipped It is possible that posting shipments directly in IC does not.

If a costing lot is emptied by adjustments, IC81B will leave the receipt number and date, even if the qty and cost are both reduced to zero. This may be what is happening to you.
