A demo or instructions to create a simple fax cover page? Those codes confuse me. Thanks.

Have you read the manual or the help?

Hi Fong:

There are a large number of fields which can be confusing.

The good news is that the fields are named quite clearly and, further, the sample cover sheets in the module already use the most important ones.

I'd suggest making good use of the "Preview" button. It's a great feature just for this purpose. To experiment, create a new, blank cover sheet and pick some fields from the selection tree (focus on Customer Data - Profile and Company Data). Just insert them into the document on separate lines; don't worry about any fancy wording. Then click on the Preview button and pick a Customer. You'll see exactly what the various codes represent.

It'll take a bit of experimenting but it's almost (a little) fun!

Thank you all. I'll study the menu tonight. I didn't know there is a sample cover sheet for faxing.

I believe the previous response was based on the EMAIL cover sheets, when you were asking about the FAX cover sheets.

Fax cover sheets are simply TXT text files that can be set on the Fax Setup screen. You type the information that you want to have as the fax cover, using Notepad or any other word processor that can save to TXT files. Where you want document information like number of pages, the date or the name, a particular code is used and the customer info will replace the code. Up to 8 codes are allowed.

Page 7-23 in the Adagio Fundamentals manual has more information.

Hello Fong:

My answer was reasonable for Emailing but completely useless for Faxing. My apologies.

I couldn't find a sample fax cover sheet. It would be a text file that can be created with Windows' Notepad application. Using the codes below, I think it would look something like:

To: $R
From: $F
Date: $D

Please find attached your invoice ... and so on.

Codes:
$D = today’s date in MM/DD/YY format; always 8 characters
$I = station ID; variable length
$N = total number of pages; variable length
$P = actual page number; variable length
$R = recipient’s name; variable length
$F = sender’s name; variable length
$S = title; variable length
$T = current time in HH:MMpm format; always 7 characters
