There is a message that will ask if you want to "Reuse existing Index file, etc, etc.". I have a client that runs reports at night via macros.... they recently upgraded to QR 6.5 and are having a problem getting past this message using the macros. It appears a default answer does not record in the macro. Is there a way we can turn this off so they can run the reports at night automatcially. They would like to answer "no" to this and have QR rebuild the index each time it runs the reports.

Thank you,
Janet Laudner

Hi Janet

In the soon to be released version of QR6.5A(990709) a parameter has been added to the QRCONFIG.LD4 file in \QRASP to turn off the message asking if you want to re-use index files. This message causes the problem you are experiencing when printing reports from a macro.

As you have found out, the macro cannot learn a response to this question, and will stop to wait for user input.

In the new version, the default setting is to not ask the question, however, you will be able to change this default using the Report Parameter menu.

The new version should be shipping next week. If your client is on a current upgrade plan, they will receive this automatically, OR you can download the BETA from the Partner area of our website under download directory, 'Betas'. It expires on September 30, 1999. It will get them through it until they purchase the upgrade, or get it in the mail from our shipping department.
