Would it be a easy add on for Softrak to give us more fields for "Ship Via"? 8.1C (090902) allows ONLY 10. We need at least double this and preferably 50 so we are never limited to less than we need. We've managed with 10 since the AccPac days but as our business grows we add more runs (i.e. Toronto East, Toronto West). We hope to expand further (more trucks on the road delivering to more areas) and we use this field to categorize our customers into which run they are on. Thanks.

Could you use the Territory field as a work-around?

Or how about report group or one of the optional fields in the customer master that get copied to the order header?

Territory could work as a workaround, but it would likely make our situation more complicated that it needs to be. I hoped by luck or chance it might be something that Softrak could update easily on their next OE Service Pack.

We already have our runs established using Ship Via which prints on our Invoices and that's what our drivers look for. We also search customers using the ship via field to get a list of every customer on a particular run so we can call the customers ahead on that run to see if they need anything, etc. It's working great except that we are limited to 10.

There are compatibility issues that prevent us from making this type of change to the database at this time. I think that more Ship Via codes (perhaps user-defined codes like Territories, not just a set limit) would be a great idea, when we get past database compatibility requirements.
