We are in the year-end processing right now. I would like to have a separate data file copy for the current year in case I will need it come back again to view the detail transactions a few years later since the old data may not be available at that time. I remember we can do it since I have seen some of our old file has y07 extension. However, I can't find the procedures from the help and our manual. Can someone let me know how to do it and what the best time to do it?

Hi Mavis,

The year end process in Adagio Ledger V9.0 does not delete the detailed transactions as the earlier version did. While we would always recommend making a backup before oing your year-end, there is no need to have the data in a separate directory to refer to. Those old instructions are out of date.

Closing a year does not delete the detailed transactions, so a general ledger detailed listing can be printed for any year and or period for which transactions exist.
