AR Suggestion

If it's not too late for an AR suggestion, here is something that would greatly help users, not only in AR but other modules as well.
When you are EDITING a customer (similarly when you are editing an inventory item) it would be a HUGE help if you could click NEXT to save your changes and proceed to the next customer (or next inventory item) instead of having to say OK and close. Then have to open the next one on the list.
Also, if a customer's terms are COD, the Credit Limit warning in OE is a really annoying distraction. It creates an unneccessary extra step and users get so used to ignoring and saying okay, that it creates a potential to not even notice when it's a legitimate "over their credit limit warning". Setting the Credit Limit really high on COD customers is the only way around the warning screen and is not a great solution because if that customer is later approved for terms, it could easily be mistaken as their starting Credit Limit and lead to excessing spending on credit without anyone noticing.
One more thing that I mentioned previously that would be a HUGE help in both AR and IC is if you could HIGHLIGHT and COPY fields from the VIEW CUSTOMER LIST and ITEM INQUIRY windows. Because of this inability, users tend to use the EDIT CUSTOMER LIST and ITEM MAINTENANCE screens, so they can easily copy and paste to an email. This creates 2 problems. 1. It locks out other users from accessing those customers/items at the same time. 2. It opens up the potential that they might accidentally change fields when copying and pasting and then accidentally save their changes when clicking okay.

Point 2 - YEAH!!!
Point 3 - It would be great if we could copy Inventory notes so we could easily copy and paste to an email to give a customer details on a particular product with having to go into Item Maintenance.
Point 1 - Lets say for example, I wanted to go through every customer and if they are COD change their credit limit to $99999. (Thankfully I won't have to do that now that Point 2 is included in AR!) I know you'll probably say that we should use a spreadsheet and import if we have to change a lot of records, but there are times it would be nice to have the ability to quick edit customer after customer. Maybe even more so in Inventory. Say for example, you want to update your pricing or notes. In Item Inquiry, you can quickly click next.. next.. next.. to see which items are missing notes. But you also have to have Item Maintenance also open so you can add the notes. It would be good if you could next.. next.. next.. in Item Maintenance. I guess if changes were made you would have to verify somehow if you wanted to save the changes before moving to the next record which might complicate things. Anyway, we are doing okay with keeping ITEM MAINTENANCE and ITEM INQUIRY both open to work more quickly. With 4,800 item codes currently on our system anything we can do to work faster is a help.

Thanks for considering this input. As I've mentioned before (and this in unrelated to AR so maybe I'm in the wrong thread at this point but anyway..), the biggest problem for us is moving inventory between branches. The inability to print stock transfers with a place for a signature, similar to OE, except without actually Invoicing anything, causes us more grief than anything else in Adagio! (This issue has come up again this morning). Our workaround is currently as follows:
1. Enter stock transfers for a particular branch up to the day of delivery.
2. On the day of the delivery, print a transaction report and export it to Excel, delete the costing columns, add check boxes to show if the item has been picked and delivered. Print the report and give it to the driver with the product and have the person receiving sign for proof of delivery.
3. The other branch at the same time, gives the driver product to come back to our warehouse (stock returns). We cannot enter these onto our system until the next calendar day or else the transaction report will show a duplication of the items transferred to them that day.
4. The next day, we enter the stock returns and print a transaction report and export it to Excel and delete the cost columns and print it for our records. New stock transfers cannot be entered on that calendar day or the transaction report will show a duplication of these returns.
5. The next calendar day, we begin enterring new stock transfers for that branch up until the day of the delivery.
This is very cumbersome. Trying to keep employees in this routine on top of everything else they're responsible for is difficult to say the least.
I truly hope to see an Inventory Transfer system in place in Adagio Inventory the next time around whenever that might be (the sooner the better).
Thanks,

Susan --
This doesn't address your major problem, but is a tip to make the report preparation simpler in #2 and #4.
If you create a mailmerge in Word, you can print your report directly from Excel without having to remove columns, add signature line, etc. You simply put all that in the Word template.
It's tricky to explain in an email, so, if you have problems with setting up the merge, you can call me most days after lunch your time at 604-736-3741.

Hi Wally, Thanks for the help. I will call you this week.
Hi David, We go to IC/Reports/Transaction Reports/Transaction History. Check mark Stock Transfers and uncheck the rest. Item Number - All, Date - Enter specific dates according to a written chart where we keep track, Location - Enter only the location your are transfering stock to or from. Then Preview (NEVER CLICK PRINT here because it asks you if you want to delete the transaction history which we did once and lost all the history (*poof* gone) - I hope this will also be changed in the new IC. I don't know why anyone would ever want to lose their transaction history. Then export to Excel 8.0 and save it. Open the Excel file, say okay to the "File Error - Data may have been lost" (I assume this is a compatibility issue with Adagio and Office 2007? Would love to see a fix for this too) then.. delete the columns, format the spreadsheet, add the check columns and signature line at the bottom and print. Phew. The process is exhausting.
You may have an idea about creating a Gridview that looks at the Stock Transfer Audit List. We currently print the Stock Transfer Audit List to a PDF and clear it at each month end. In our AccPac days we used the Audit List itself as our Stock Transfer paperwork and cleared it each time, but when we changed to Adagio, we couldn't use it anymore because it printed the costs.
