We have one machine running Excel 2007 that doesn't create the automatic table functionality (sorting, etc.) built into various Adagio modules - especially Sales Analysis when using the Excel direct button.

Could there be a setting in that installation of Excel 07 that's turned off or preventing this from taking place?

Is it running Adagio from the same server (drive) as the other workstations? Does it have Excel 2007 installed?

The machine in question is a stand alone (Adagio data not through a server). Yes, it has Exel 2007 installed on it as do all the networked machines.

Would it matter that the applications (both Adagio and Office) are installed in the drive C: partition while the data is stored on D: ?

Hi Cary,

In the \softrak\system directory for the machine in question, what is the file date (and version) for the file SSI2XL.DLL? This is the file that controls the Excel Direct functionality. You may have an older version. The current version is dated June 12, 2008 and internal version 1.11.21.185.

First, I should explain that the data on the machine in question is primarily test data. Moreover, there are multiple copies of test data on the machine(s) in question.

I assume that when you are speaking about the \softrak\system directory, we're talking about the application (not data) directories. Is that correct?

You're right about the older version of SSI2XL.DDL. On the machines in question it's ver 1,11,19,171. Can I just copy a current version of SSI2XL.DLL over the older version? There are a number of SSIxxx.DLL files in the \softrak\system subdirectory. Is there anything to be checked or concerned about there?

Thanks!

Hi Cary,

If the SSI2XL is older, then you may not get that Excel 2007 feature. It's not really a problem, just that you don't get the new feature - similar to running an older program and not seeing new features.

Yes, the \softrak\system is a program folder and not particular to data in any way.

You can copy this SSI2XL.DLL file from one workstation to another. One question is whether the Adagio programs are the most current on this workstation. If so and there is an older file but a different (newer) date, this could be due to an installation problem. There may be more system files (such as dictionaries) that all have the same date - you should check this out.
