I think everyone has had at least one of these at some time or another and they are usually non-fatal.

I have a customer who has been getting them with increasing frequency, mostly in GL (mostly) and nearly always when exiting from a batch or closing a window or exiting the program. Sometimes the access violation error will be accompanied by (followed by) a pointer error.

I've checked integrity and not found anything. The fact that they are increasing makes me think hardware, especially as they only have GL and AP and their setup hasn't changed.

Any thoughts?

Hi, Tony,

Would you confirm the exact version and release date of the GL & AP they are using? This can be found in Help | About and the date is in parentheses beside the version.

Also, we'd need to know the exact access violation error message they are receiving, in what module and what they were doing at the time, before we can check what it might be about.

Thanks,
