We recently upgraded to 8.1A. When trying to edit a receipt we get an error message tellings us we can not return x quantity to a particular location. If we try to change the location we get a message that it is not allowed at that location. There is sufficient quantity to return. The reason for the editing in the first place is that the incorrect item number was used, so we need to return it to that item number and then add the correct item number.

Is anyone experiencing this problem.

I have no problems editing receipts to return items using 8.1A (080829). You should always give the full version number including the date in brackets.

Sounds like you may need to check the Edit | Locations area and see if your item has somehow been dis-allowed from the location.

Something else to consider is that Adagio Inventory has a feature not available in Plus that allows Stock Transfers from one item to another. I've never actually used it, but my understanding is suppose 10 Dogs were received when they should really have been Cats - then you could simply Transfer 10 Dogs to Cats and all should be well. Maybe that could work for you but the item would still have to be allowed at the appropriate location.

I have checked the Edit |location and the item is permitted at that location. The receipt has the item at the correct location but the message upon trying to edit it is saying that there is insufficient stock at another location for which it is not permitted.

The receipt has 11 items. 7 for the warehouse and 4 for the retail store. We can edit the 7 for the warehouse but are unable to edit the 4 for the retail store. We continually get the message that there is insufficient quantity in the warehouse, even though the receipt is saying for the retail store. If we try to change the location from the retail store to the warehouse, it tells us the item is not allowed at that location.

Have you done a Dayend in OrderEntry? Is the integrity check in OrderEntry and Inventory Control showing any errors?

Another place to check to see if the item is allowed at a location is Item Maintenance\Item List for Location. If there is quantity on hand or on order at a location, you normally cannot turn the ‘Permit entry’ off.
