Hi All,

When we enter orders for one customer OE runs extremely slow, and sometimes just halts altogether.

I've tried this on more than one computer, and it happens on any computer, as long as you are trying to enter an order for this customer.

Entering orders for all other customers is fine.

We are running OE 8.1B.

Any ideas?

Does OrderEntry pass the Data Integrity Check clean? Is there anything unique (or unusual) about "the one customer"? Unusual number of transactions for example? What part of entering an order runs slowly, adding items or posting the completed order?

I've done some more experimenting. OE only freezes up when we try and enter a reference# in the header tab. If I leave it blank, then the order enters fine. We need to enter this, as this is our cutomer's PO# which gets us paid.

This is a high volume customer. Is it possible that it is looking for similar reference numbers?

I noticed that when I tried to enter a reference number in an order for another customer, it asked me if I would like to use the same reference as in document I xxxxxx (it was an invoice). It never use to ask us this.

Any ideas?

Hi, Acrylon,

Look in your OE Company Profile on the System Options tab for the 'Check for duplicate reference' option and turn it off. This should help to speed up the order creation for your high volume customer as OE will no longer be checking for duplicate references (PO numbers).
