I'm trying to import my cash recipts from our POS software (GSI-Retail 1). The problem I am having is with the amount field. There are two problems.
1) They do not put decimals in there numbers, so 150.90 actually showes as 15090 which imports to Adagio as 15090.00. Is there a way to have Adagio put in a decimal two places over?
2) Their amount also shows a "-" for negative which shouldn't be a problem, but it has "+" for positive which Adagio isn't liking.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Hi Candace,

Well - the quick work-around would be to pull the file into Excel and then save it and import it from the Excel spreadsheet. You might have to divide the amount by 100 in Excel to get the decimal point in the right place.

Did your POS provider say that their batch was compatible with anything?

BTW - are we talking about importing the batch into Ledger or Receivables?

I'm importing in to GL. My file is supposed to be compatible with great plains.

I'm having the same problem with importing into excel. Because of the + & -. Excel will recognize the - but not the + and since they are in the same column I have to import both signs or all my amounts will be positive and my entry won't balance.

Thanks for your help.

Hello Candace,

Does your POS solution offer any other accounting programs to integrate with? There might be another that produces a more compatible format. Otherwise, please e-mail me the batch and we'll see what we can do.

I've contacted my software company because I feel they should do something with their files since they are not even compatible with excel. I'll let you know if they have any suggestions that will help.

Thanks for getting back so fast.
