Getting this error when attempting to print an invoice on one machine. Everyone else can print just fine.
Able to print using other applications and able to print test page to this printer.
Adagio doesn't crash, but nothing prints.

Hi, Tony,

You didn't say if you're referring to Invoices or OrderEntry. Can you confirm the module, version and release dates?

Also, were you/they able to print invoices successfully from this workstation before?

Are they trying to print from screen after hitting the Preview button or trying to print to the printer or a file using the Print button?

This is Adagio Invoices 8.1A (070606).
This is a new workstation.
Print using print button, print preview works.

I've noticed there's a newer release (070921), I'm going to install that and see if the problem is resolved.

Ok 070921 is in - no change.
Can print ok if we don't change the printer settings in 'setup', if we do - can't print or preview.
As I said, all other workstations are fine and all using the same print driver/windows version.
Isn't this a Delphi error message?

OK, so the error message occurs with all the following conditions:

- One particular workstation
- Adagio Invoices specification
- Default printer not kept, but changed in Setup

This error message is trying to find something in a list and is unable to. We have had one other report of this error when changing the printer from the Setup for Adagio Invoices to print to a different tray, and the problem went away when the client uninstalled and re-installed the printer on their server.

Does the same error occur if you use a different invoice specification to print/preview the invoice?
If you visit the File/Options within Adagio Invoices and specify a 'specific' printer - the one you are changing to within the Setup area - does the problem still re-occur?
Does any other workstation print to this identical printer with Adagio Invoices?
Is Terminal Services or Citrix involved? Could the printer driver name change? If so, check out this Citrix article here. The solution is changing something in the network, not Adagio.

If you continue to get the error, please describe the working enviroment (Windows version, network type, local/shared printer, File/Options settings, etc).

Final Report on this Thread:

The problem was solved by forcing an uninstall of the printer driver and reconnecting to the network printer.

This method also fixed a problem where invoices were being 'shifted' about half an inch to the left.

Thanks for your help and suggestions.

Andrew: re: "Printers are always a problem it seems."

Actually, Windows printing is always a problem. Between multiple drivers, code pages, form settings etc., it is almost surprising that any two installations print the same way.

Printers were a problem in the DOS days too.
