I set up several users for e-mailing invoices/order confirmations/credit notes from Adagio OE. We, then, sent several test e-mails to ourselves by (temporarily) entering our own e-mail addresses into a few sample order etc.
The problem we experience is that the e-mails we receive always show the wrong time. For instance, I sent an order confirmation from Adagio OE at 10:46AM to my work e-mail address. At the same time, I checked on the mail server. The mail server's clock and log file also showed 10:46AM as the time the message went through. My laptop, running Thunderbird, showed 10:46AM when I received the e-mail message. However, the e-mail message itself showed 2:48AM as the time received.
It looks like the mail message that gets created by Adagio uses UTC time (Date: Mon, 11 Feb 2008 10:48:50 +0000) instead of UTC -0800). When Thunderbird receives the message, it translates 10:48 into 2:48.
Any way you can fix that?

A.

P.S.: Here's the source header of the e-mail message. Look for how our mail server (Kerio) uses -0800 for correct time zone handling. Adagio seems to be using +0000 which causes the time discrepancy.

Minor mistake in my first posting... The clock on my laptop showed 10:48AM (not 10:46AM) at the time the e-mail message was received.

No replies yet, so I'm wondering: Has anyone else experienced this issue or is it just us?

Thx,

Andre

Andre,

I had a similar issue on a system that used Thunderbird, but do not have the issue on systems using Outlook. Figure that one.....

Hi David!

Thanks for the tip! I sent myself another order confirmation via e-mail and pulled up the e-mail in my web browser instead of Thunderbird. Sure enough - the time is correct in the browser.
I'll dig through the Thunderbird preferences to see if there is some way to suppress TB trying to change the time.
Thanks again!

Andre

If you are using the MAPI method of sending emails in Adagio, then all of the email controls are determined by the email application, such as Outlook or Thunderbird. If you are using the Direct method, then that isn't the case.

Thanks for letting us know that the email was correct in webmail, as this helps catch where the snag is.

We use 'Direct'. The problem I saw in the message header source was that Adagio uses +0000 for the time zone designation when it creates the message and The Lightinng plug-in in Thunderbird (the only place in TB where I was able to find a time zone selection menu) is set to 'America/Los Angeles' - which seems to cause Thunderbird to subtract 8 hours from the incoming message.
Well, it's not that big a deal. It just would be nice if it matched.;-)

Hi:

I experienced exactly the same symptoms at a client last week. They are also using Thunderbird as their e-mail client.

Since Adagio works properly with Outlook, this suggests that Thunderbird and Outlook handle +0000 differently.

This isn't a critical issue, just something to add to Development's list of issues to examine!
