Hi Andrew .... I previously installed 9.0 Ledger and had corrupted data while trying to post from our main terminal .... posting from my terminal works fine after your fine folks repaired the data ... I applied the latest 9.0 service pack hoping it would solve the posting issue, everything looked fine, I imported previous history great, no data integrity errors, but I find that I can't load the Financial Reporter .... I get an error "Unable to load Specification Designer (Error 0)".

Help .... it's Dec 31, and I can't print a financial statement of any kind!! Same error on other machines. The 8.1A ledger still works A-OK on non-converted data. Help!!!

Hi Kevin

I had a client with the same problem. It ended up being a problem with the file name LedgerFinRep.exe being longer than 8 characters, and it got saved somehow as Ledger~1.exe. If you see a file with the name Ledger~1.exe and no file named LedgerFinRep.exe in your \softrak\ledger folder, then that is the problem. Rename the file.

But it makes me wonder why this is happening, I thought it may have been a fluke when I saw this at my client.

Steve

Hi Kevin,

I think Steve's post identified the problem. We'll take a look at how this might be occurring first thing in the new year.

Enjoy the impending snow storm, and Happy New Year!

Thanks for your patience.

Andrew: I am attempting to install the service pack. "It" keeps telling me that the existing version is not found in the destination directory. I look and it is there. What am I doing wrong????

Hello Sammy,

The service pack is expecting to update Adagio Ledger V9.0A - this is found in the \SOFTRAK\LEDGER subdirectory on whatever drive your Adagio is installed on.

Check carefully - and make sure your drive mapping are set up the way you expect.

Happy New Year!

Andrew: I am trying again to update the Ledger. Although there is a "Ledger" subfile in Softrak the Ledger executes under ALWIN. I have tried both and it still says existing does not exist. I compared the directory mapping to the other modules which I have updated without a hitch. Is there something else?

Hello Sammy,

Change the properties of your Adagio Ledger shortcut to point to \SOFTRAK\LEDGER\LEDGER.EXE if you want it to launch Adagio Lendger V9.0A. \SOFTRAK\ALWIN\ALWIN.EXE is Adagio Ledger V8.1A (or earlier).

Andrew:
Although there is a Ledger subfile in the Softrax folder there is no ledger.exe file. Have I missed the update from 8.1 to 9.0 or does this mean my update of the Lanpack 9.0 hasn't "taken"? I have been exploring to try and figure it out myself but the Lanpack upgrade is marked as installed and I do not remember having any problems. Should I retried installing that?
