One of my coworkers pointed this out to me...

He and several other employees used to run the Order Action Report in ACCPAC O/E quite often. He has tried to use the one in Adagio O/E, but here's what happens:

He selected the following fields (left to right):
Item#
Quantity
Order#
Cust ID

In detail mode, he gets all the detail, i.e. all four fields, line by line for every order. In summary mode, all the report lists is the left most field (Item#) with all other fields blank. If I move CustID to be the left most column, then all I get one Cust ID per line with all other columns being blank.

What ACCPAC does and what we would like to see the Adagio report do is to (in summary mode) give us the Item# and the total quantity on order.

We noticed that while the selection screen for this report looks very similar to the Sales Analysis selection screen, there is no 'summary by' option for each one of the fields. Is there something we're missing or is this the way the report works and if we want something different we would have to write our own? We're just thinking that the summary report in its current form is pretty much useless - at least to us.;-)

Cheers,

Andre

Hi Andre,

Currently if you have 'header' fields such as customer code and 'detail' fields such as item number, you don't get sub-totals by item number. If Customer number and other 'header' fields are removed, the item sub-totals appear. Also, sub-totals appear only if there are 2 or more details to total - there isn't much point to sub-total a single item.

The Order Action report is not the same as the Sales Analysis Online Inquiry function (with customizable sort-by fields).

This may not be the best way to do things, but just reporting here how it is working.

Thanks! I understand. We were just wondering why this worked with header fields AND detail fields in ACCPAC and not in Adagio. We'll work around it, but if this is functionality that could be added to bring this report to the same level as the one in ACCPAC - that would be great.
