We recently upgraded all our modules including the g/l to ver 9.

I have not changed any of our specs - however when I print the department statments all zero balances are showing/printing - they did not show/print when using ver 8. I did read that they will show in print preview but not when they print. All accounts are being printed for each department.

Any ideas why

Hi Benita,

We are aware of a scenario where the zero suppress function in the Financial Reporter wasn't working as expected and perhaps this is what is happening to you. The situation is that there is a particular column in a financial statement that is reporting on a future period, such as the '12 period net changes', and the current month hasn't reached that period yet. In this situation, the zero suppress is not correctly suppressing accounts that have zero balances. If you changed the period in the toolbar to 12 (so that there are no future periods), the zero balances correctly suppress.

This has been corrected for a service pack to GL9 that we hope to release very soon. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

Thank you - I just tried this - no change - first I changed the period for the consolidated statement - recalculated - then went to print the departments individually for the period I require and it still printed all accounts. So I thought I would try printing the departments separetly using period 12 again all accounts printed. Any other ideas?

Hello Benita,

We'd like to see the data and financial statements that are causing the problem. Would it be possible for you to e-mail a ZIP of your general ledger data to abates (a) softrak.com?

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hi Benita:

Remember, as a short-term fix, you can always click on the "Excel Direct" button in the Financial Reporter and send the statement to Excel.

Once it is in Excel, you can remove the zero rows.

We can all agree that you shouldn't have to do that, but it's the quickest way to relieve the pressure leading up to your AGM.

I thought of that - and maybe I will do it if the service pack to the ledger is not out by next wed. It just makes extra work

Thanks
