I am retrieving prior year data and have changed the password since that year. How do I move past the "signon failed " message, when retrieving in V9?

I don't think that File | Import | Retrieve Prior Years asks for a passwod.

Is that what you mean?

It doesn't ask for the password but when hit "load data" it comes up with the message "sign on failed". I think I will try changing my password back to the old password so that I can retrieve the years and then reset my password again.

When you run the Retrieve Prior Year function, try using the system administrator password, which would be SYS ans password SYS if you haven't changed from the default.

If this doesn't work, then a pointer file has changed since that prior year, perhaps due to changing networks and drive mapping. In the directory that contains the prior year back, rename the file ADSPROF.dat, where 'dat' is your data extension. When you retrieve the prior year data now, you will be asked to re-enter the currency and eztasks paths, which you should acept the default. Then you should be good to go.
