A client installed Ledger 9.0. They left Ledger 8.1 intact.

When they use the Adagio menu within a subledger and choose "Ledger", they say that Ledger 8.1 tries to start.

Is this the expected behaviour? I can add a new option to the Adagio menu to allow access to Ledger 9.0. Or is there a better way?

Only Adagio version 8.1A sub-ledgers will know anything about Adagio Ledger 9.0A. If they are using say Receivables 8.1A and launch Ledger from the Adagio menu, they indeed will get Ledger 9.0A loaded.

However, if they are using say Receivables 8.0A, then launching Ledger from the Adagio menu will load Ledger 8.1A from the old location.

So indeed your client is correct, and the reason is that they are loading Ledger from a version of Adagio that doesn't know anything about version 9. This includes not only the Adagio menu but also sending information to the second GL description field. The solution is to install 8.1A upgrades for all Adagio sub-ledger programs for which they are available.

If they are starting Ledger from say Adagio Checks or SalesAnalysis (neither of which have version 8.1A shipping yet), then they will not be able to load Ledger 9.0 from the Adagio menu until these programs have version 8.1A shipping.

That makes sense in this situation. The client has not kept their AP on an Upgrades plan so it is definitely 8.0.
