Hi Cindy,

When you said 'added a new entity', did you mean create a new data set? Something else?

If the Quik Check data and the GL data are not located in the same directory with the same data extension, then if you try to use the finder on the GL account field, you will get the message as indicated. What you should do is make sure that in the directory where your Quik Check data is located, you also have GL data. The easiest process is do a file search for qcglob.* which will tell you all the places where you have Quik Check data. Do you have a glglob data file (GL data) in the same directory with the same file extension? Should this not be set up correctly, then you may have to move/rename data files so that QC and GL data are in the same place.

As for copying vendor lists, there is no function in place to export or import vendors. You may be able to make a copy of the qcvend*.* data files from your original data, and paste them into the data directory of the new Quik Check data. There are 3 data files in total to copy/paste. If you do this, then make sure to do a backup of the new data before file copying, and perform a data integrity check after pasting the files.

Hi Cindy,

So if I understand correctly, you want to have Quik Check data located in the G:\ACCPAC\ACTG directory? If this is the case, and you don't have any GL data in this directory with the same file extension, that would explain why Quik Check cannot find any account information. If you want to interface with GL, then the data has to be in the same place. As with most other Accpac Plus programs, all data has to be in the same directory and have the same data extension for the programs to work together. The Quik Check on the G drive cannot work with your GL data on the C drive.

Because it sounds like you want to work with multiple data sets (entities), if you want each of them to use both Quik Check and GL, then there must be a qcglob and a glglob in each one. For Accpac's GL, you must create a new entry for each different data entity in the System Manager start list. For Quik Check for Windows, you simply have to enter the new data location and file extension on the Login screen.

If I have misunderstood the situation, could you please post here they way you want things to be set up? Basically, where do you want the data to be (C: drive or G: drive or both), what is the data extension(s) involved, and do you have (want) GL data everywhere you have Quik Check data?
