I recently had to do a repair install on one of our computers. After getting the computer setup again, we ran into a problem. When printing cheques the margins are not coming out as expected. The image looks like it has been shifted down and to the right.

This is only happening for cheques. Reports come out looking as expected as well as document from other programs.

I have checked that the correct print drivers and cheque specifications are being used. I'm not sure what else the problem could be.

It is possible that the repair install resulted in changing the Regional Settings (in Windows' Control Panel) from English (United States) to English (Canada) or vice versa. Believe it or not, this will affect the print margins!

Change it back and try printing a cheque.

Have you changed the regional settings on the new computer? Since you are using "cheques" and not "checks" you have probably set the computer for Canadian usage (which measures margins in centimeters). Americans measuer their margins in inches. The specification just stores an offset without knowing the units. Whatever the settings were when the form was designed impact the margin numbers that are stored.

Change the regional settings to USA and see if that solves the problem.

Thanks for the help. I had actually checked the Regional and Language Settings and changed it to English (Canada) in the Regional Options tab, but forgot to check the advanced options tab. After changing that one to English (Canada) too, everything was back to normal.

Thanks a bunch.
