The problem is that computer suppliers think that everyone is viewing videos or high-resolution graphics, and so they set the computers to display the most pixes across the screen the monitor will support. Since all text characters are formed by a matrix of a certain number of pixels wide and a certain number high, more pixels on the screen equals smaller text.
On a blank area of the desktop, right-click and select "Properties." Click on the settings tab. Adjust the slider bar under Screen Resolution by moving it left (toward smaller numbers). Click "Apply."
You may have to experiment to find the best balance of resolution and text size for your use.
