Softrak Tech Support may correct me on this, but I think that designating the sheet as a SmartSheet requires that it assume control of how columns A and B are used.

If you are trying to display the acct/dept for your detail lines, you could simply choose that as one of the column options when "dragging" into the spreadsheet or use a formula like this:
TRIM(ADGETF("GLDATA.ACCTDEPT",$B8))
(changing the Cell reference, of course).
