I am able to duplicate the problem where the import process does not like the M/d/yyyy format - I have seen this in other Adagio applications as well with specific versions. I can forward this to development for you. Likely the problem occured in the installed service pack.
Make sure that in the import template, you use the M/d/yyyy format instead of the ASCII YYYYMMDD format (which expects dates to be "20060531" instead of "05/31/2006").
