If you want the figure from one year back, it's easier to add the "year specifier" to the specification code you are using.
So, if a column contains "BAL" for the current balance, then "{1}BAL" will be the balance in the previous year, "{2}BAL" will be the balance in the year before that, etc. This is true for any specification code and makes generating year-over-year comparative statements easy.
For Budgets, it is also useful to be able to specify "{-1B}" to get the figure for Next Year's budget.
