Hi Martin!
An excellent suggestion, yes - thank you Martin!
To clarify our recommeded procedure further though (as I did not go into details) - because our software does not have the extensive install, uninstall & 'setup' file repair routines that a company the size of Microsoft can afford to implement, for the time it takes to rename folders and reinstall the product, you are ensured of fresh clean program files. This is the best resolution in these cases and does not take long! (In fact, it is likely comparable in time to running the setup procedure over again in other products like Office or Windows - as there are many more files involved in these applications - why would this not be considered a waste of time as well?)
Personally, if any given procedure results in the resolution of the problem I can't see how this is a 'waste' of time!
Also note that in some cases, a simple reinstall (without renaming anything) may indeed rectify the problem as this process will overwrite version files (.exe's etc) and other files that have an older date attached to them - however, if the problem is not with these files, you will be faced with repeating the procedure after renaming the associated folders!
Take care,
