I've finally managed to dig down to the bottom of it - it is not officially a formal requirement of the Revenue Dept of Thailand, however it tends to be general practice with most companies.

The long and short of it is that if it is an easy inclusion in future versions, great. But if it is a hassle, then its not a serious concern.
