In SalesCQ, you can indicate which field the quote number will be found when you send the quote to an OE Order. This can be found in the SalesCQ Company profile (on the Quotes tab) in an option titled 'Copy quote number to'. You likely have this set up as sending to the Reference and desire a different field. An OE Order 'optional field' might be the best bet, though you could also pick an OE header comment line if both aren't used for orders.

If you wanted to use an optional field in OE, edit the OE company profile and the Optional Fields tab. Enter a title of 'Quote Number' or something similar into one of the 3 available String optional fields. Whichever you enter here, choose this OE optional field in the SalesCQ profile for sending the quote number to.
