Hello Galil!

I have posted this again, just in case!

1. You can consult your Adagio Fundamentals Guide, (Chapter 5) for specific information on how to use your keyboard to enter data rather than having to stop and use your mouse. Page 5-1 "Keyboard Commands" will help you in this regard.

2. Once an account has been added (created), you cannot change either the account or the department information. This is a safety feature. If there is no balance yet in this account (ie you have just created it) you can create a new one with the proper Department assignation, then delete the old one if desired.

3. You can use the copy function to copy an existing account, (once it is setup the way you want). For example - you have account 2022 already set up with a department of 100. You can copy this account/department then type in the new account and department to save some time if the Description will be the same.

The shortest way to do this other than copying the accounts, would be if you already had an existing file that contained your chart of accounts as you want them (ie in a spreadsheet, database or other application. If so, you should be able to import the accounts directly into Adagio Ledger. (You must note that Ledger lists the accounts consecutively by account number.) More details on importing accounts are also in Chapter 3 of the Ledger manual (3-20 ~ 3-26).

Of course, if you were using ACCPAC Plus GL, you can just point Adagio to this data and start using it - it will read all the existing information. This is the shortest way to do this.

Really, as suggested on page 3-14 in the Adagio Ledger manual, you should spend some time preparing your Ledger account structure before you start entering the new accounts into Adagio. Please refer to this page for more information in this respect.

Hope this helps!
Good luck!

Sincerely
