Processes that have a Cancel button may be cancelled in the middle. Those that cannot be interrupted until completion do not display this button. (OK - we inadvertantly allowed people to cancel the upgrade to Ledger V9.0A at a bad time, but this was fixed in the next service pack.)

Certainly, cheque runs can be cancelled. However, you then have to tell Payables which cheques it needs to void to get the next run to work properly.

What exact process was being run, and at what stage was the Cancel button pressed?
