When I view a GL entry (View Transactions), I am unable to see a column for the Acct code and department. How do I change this so I can see these columns. When I read Help, it shows that I should be able to see this.

Like almost every grid in Adagio, you can customize the columns. Double-click on any column title, and move the acct and dept fields from the left-hand to the right-hand table.

If double-clicking doesn't work, you need to change a setting under your user ID to allow for customizing columns.
