Yes, when the CPA is finished working on the client's account, he wants to 'delivery' the set of financial reports to the client's web site. Ideally, an email would go out to the client notifying him that there is a new set of reports.
I'm agnostic about PDF vs. Excel. What matters is which is fastest and easiest to make the set of reports.
I like your idea about the local folder structure mirroring the web site server folder structure.
Matthew:
I assume the goal would be to update the reports on the web site whenever they were updated in the CPA office.
This might be easy if a folder structure for the reports was created on a local server that exactly matched that on the web server.
Then, if a statement group was created for each client containing the needed reports, it would be printed to a pdf file with PDF Creator or similar program before the accountant or bookkeeper exits. These files would be saved in the folders on the local server with pre-defined file names.
At day end, the entire folder structure would be copied to the web server via FTP, updating all the client reports.
