How do I add a new company to A/P, A/R & GL.? Do I need to have a separate data file or can I have it collect the data in the same location as the existing company?

Although it is not strictly necessary, each company's data should be stored in a separate data folder.

General rule of thumb is that if it is a separate legal entity, requires a separate balance sheet just for that entity, or has a different year end date, then it should be in a separate database. Otherwise you could use the same a single database with different departments.

To answer your question, there is a "create" button button on the right of the open window when you open each of your applications, GL, AR, and AP.

You can choose the data path, and yes as was suggested above, you normally choose a separate folder, and separate data extension, but is not necessary.

We normally change the new company to a different background colour in the company profile so you can easily tell which company you are in.
