Hello,

We had the following error message when we were posting orders:

Error 4102 occurred when attempting to append record to OE Order Header.

When we select OK, the orders were either disappeared or showing shipped and no invoices generated.

Can anyone help asap?

Thanks,

Mavis

Hi Mavis,

An error 4102 is usually indicative of corrupted data. In your case, when you tried to post an order, the order header file was locked by some process and the posting was not successful.

There are many possibilities as to why this could have happened - one common reason would be that opportunistic locking is enabled somewhere where it should not be.

You likely will need to restore your data from a backup or have it repaired. You may be able to use the Integrity Check and Rebuild to fix it, depending on the type of errors.

Hi,

Thank you for the reply.

I have rebuilt the data twice. It seems working now. Anyhow, the orders number is missing from 63179 to 63185 and the invoices number is missing from 56419 to 56429 after the rebuilt. Is the data still ok for me to leave those numbers out?

Regards,

Mavis

Hi Mavis,

With the errors you received before, the likely result was that information was missing. Doing a Rebuild will synch up existing data, but it cannot recreate missing data. So as you indicated, the end result would likely be that the data is fixed but some documents will be missing.

The fact that the numbers are missing is not a problem - they could be missing because they were manually deleted, or purged from History, etc. The data should be safe, but you should do a data backup before doing too much more work.

You'll also need to decide what to do with those orders and invoices that are missing. Re-enter them and ensure nothing else is double-posted? Or manually deal with these few, if everything else is correct in IC/AR/GL? That would be up to you, perhaps with some advice from your Adagio consultant.

Mavis:

You should also find and correct the cause of this issue as it will likely just re-occur if nothing is done.
