We have a client who wants to provide ODBC access to Adagio data to a number of non-adagio users so they can do customer lookups.

does ODBC access use a lanpak license? If so, do I just need my client to buy enough licenses for 'peak' usage?

Yes and yes

Unless you have significant programming expertise or it is a special circumstance, there are easier ways to allow non-Adagio users to see customer information without being able to access the live data. The easiest that comes to mind is using GridView 9.0. A little harder is the PrintTool function of Crystal Reports for Adagio. They both use Lanpak licenses too.
