Hi,
Our company recently changed email systems. We were operating on a POP3 email server, but have now moved onto our new Microsoft Exchange server. With this change, we also have new incoming and outgoing mail server addresses.
When we were operating on our POP3 email, we were using the Mapi email method within Agagio OE, with our employee's appropriate return address (i.e. Jane@abc.com). This would then allow our employee to open up the email queue of invoices, and send them via Outlook Express on our terminal server. (with the appropriate SMTP settings entered in Outlook Express)
Once the invoice email was sent successfully, A 'C' would appear in the Status column of the email queue, otherwise an 'H' would appear to signify an email error.
Now for the issue...
On our new Exchange server, I have tried reconfiguring the Mapi Outlook Express settings, as well as the Direct email method settings in OE, but have had no success with regards to sending invoice emails to external email addresses.
Using both configurations (Mapi and Direct), I am able to complete test emails and send invoice emails to internal email addresses (i.e. Jane@abc.com to John@abc.com). A 'C' will appear beside the invoice in the email queue, and the internal recipient will receive the email with the invoice attached. However, if I try to send invoice emails to external email addresses (i.e. Jane@abc.com to client@external.com) using the Direct email method, the invoice email will not go. A 'C' will not appear in the Status field of the invoice in the email queue, and neither will an 'H', signifying failure. The Status field will just remain blank as though I didn't even try to send the email.
If I try to use the Mapi method with the same SMTP email settings within Outlook Express on our terminal server, I receive the following error when sending to an external email address:
The message could not be sent because one of the recipients was rejected by the server. The rejected e-mail address was 'client@external.com'. Subject 'Adagio OrderEntry Test Email', Account: 'Outlook Express Terminal Server', Server: 'exchange.abc.local', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '550 5.7.1 Unable to relay', Port: 2525, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 550, Error Number: 0x800CCC79
Am I missing something here? Or is the only solution to first send each invoice to an internal Exchange email account, then forward it to the client via the employee's Outlook(2007 or 2010) or our Outlook OWA service?
The only reason I'm first questioning Adagio's capability to send to external email addresses via Exchange, is because we currently have hp photocopiers that use the same SMTP configuration, and are capable of sending to external email addresses outside of our Exchange server.
Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated... Thank you,
