We have had an ongoing problem with one client for the last couple of years regarding the installation of upgrades, service packs and hot fixes. Specifically when I go to do the installs for any one of these I always run into the “File In Use” issue and obviously cannot proceed with the install.
Our workaround has always been to reboot the server but it doesn’t answer the question as to why this keeps happening.
It happened again yesterday. This time on a workstation that had no Adagio on it. I did a clean workstation install for all modules in question and went into Ledger after the install to make sure the printing worked (which it did). I then went to apply the latest Ledger service pack and it wouldn’t install. Got the “Ledger File in Use” message. So by going into Ledger the file didn't get released and Adagio thought someone using the Ledger when they were not.
So their IT went to the network setup for users and “killed” the file that was opened and then the install went smoothly.
Other than the “bad exit” I have read about online (hard boot of the machine down when they have Adagio open or a power outage) for users staying in the system on the server when they are not actually in Adagio is there anything else to look for regarding this issue? We have no other clients with this issue which is why I am thinking an issue with the network but not sure what to look for.
Thanks in advance for any information.
