We own Quick Reports 6.1F for DOS. I am trying
to print a report on legal paper from Acc Pac. I have the printer set to 16
CPI / landscape and the report width set to 255 and it still only prints 8.5
x 11 (the rest of the data gets cut off). I am printing on an HP Laser 4P. What is the problem. I have been
using the program for years and not been able to figure it out. I just
finally decided today that I was going to find the answer...

Thank you for any help you can give.

Hi Rob,

There are 2 things you need to check. The first is in Quik Reports; the number of lines to print. This is set from Layout under the Print/Export menu. Set the number of lines to what you need, minus about 6-7 lines to account for laser printer margins. For example, if you wanted to print portrait (14" long), with 6 lines per inch, you would set the number of lines to about 71 (14*6 minus 7). You may need to adjust this number slightly, depending on your printer.

Also, you have to set up the page size and orientation through the printer setup in the System Manager. There is no way to do this through Quik Reports. We can't advise specifically how to do this because again, this depends on your printer.

I am trying to print the report in 14 x 8.5 landscape. I have the system manager printer setup right. I have no trouble printing a bottled AccPac report on this printer. It is not running off the bottom of the page, as you indicated in your previous posting. The data is getting cut off the right side of the report, as if it does not know you want legal paper.

Hi Rob,

The only place Quik Reports affects the width on printing is in the Layout, and the number of characters to print. If you have it set to the maximum width of 255, as you suggested in a previous posting, then the issue lies with the the System Manager printer setup and your printer driver.

You may want to try using the 'Print On' function to test that you are using the WSM printer driver that you set up to be 14x8.5 landscape.
