A client using Payables V9.3A(190513) has three users who now log in remotely to their office. Two of them log in remotely via Team Viewer directly to their office workstations. The other logs in using RDP.

The two that log directly into their office workstations have no issues emailing EFT payments. The one using RDP gets the infamous MS Outlook warning/error:

"A program is trying to send an email message on your behalf".
Click Allow to Continue

Our assumption is this is an Outlook security setup issue under Trust Settings and not Adagio.

Just want to confirm that there is nothing in the setup of Adagio that would make two users be OK and the other not when they all have the same security.

Thanks in advance.

John,

Email settings are done by user/by module in Adagio. It's possible your RDP user has a different email setup in Adagio Payables than the other two and the way they connect to their system is a coincidence. Also, the option they're using in the Adagio Payables Email setup, depends on the OS they're using. In Win 7 you have to use MAPI, in Win 10 you can use the Outlook option and there should be no MS Outlook warning. Or you can use direct smtp settings if you continue to have issues with Outlook security.

Either way, it can be a bit of troubleshooting. You often have to get on there and go to the Email setup menu and check it out in each user.

Thanks for the information Dan. Appreciated.

Looks like we have a little trial and error going on today.

Thanks again.

To follow up from Dan's response we used the "Outlook" setting in the email setup and still the same problem. They are remote accessing into a Windows Server 2012 R2.

We will try using the "Direct" method to see if that wins us any battles.

John:

For the RDP user, is their Outlook on their local workstation rather than the RDP session?

I recommend you switch then to "Direct".

I've also found SMTP2GO to be a better "Direct" solution that using the email providers smtp setup.

Thanks Doug we will go that route. Don't have much choice since the other two don't work. wink

Appreciate your input.
