I have been asked: When entering a new Detail Line Item on an Order, the "Ordered" field defaults to 1.
Can this be chanaged, so that it defaults to 0?

I try not to be the first responder to a question with a NO because then when I am proven wrong I look bad.

But I think the answer is NO.

I have been asked this as well.

The routine that checks if there is sufficient quantity on hand doesn't check if the qty on hand is zero and you don't change from the default qty of 1. It only triggers a response if you change that '1' to something greater. Client doesn't love having to set inventory to disallow negative qty to get around this change from the default of 0 to a default of 1.

Steve is correct, this is not (currently) optional behaviour.

Samuel - What is it about the default ordered quantity being 1 that isn't working for your client? Not judging, just asking.

Audrey - if the check against negative inventory was done correctly for this client in this circumstance, would that alleviate their concern? Or do they really want a default of zero, regardless of negative inventory checking?

If the check was correct, yes, that would alleviate their concern.

The client wold like the Qty to default to 0.
When the Qty = 0, and they click OK after entering a line Item, Adagio will prompt: "This quantity ordered has zero value".
This will alert them to enter the appropriate Qty.
When the Qty defaults to 1, there have been times (perhaps when things are hectic), that they may miss entering the correct Qty, since the line Item is automatically accepted.

They have asked me how they can default the Qty to 0, to better ensure that they are entering the Qty themselves for each line.
