Have a client that base their pricing off of qty purchased.

So for example they have item A setup:

Qty Purchased 1-5 you receive price v
Qty Purchased 6-10 you receive price w
Qty Purchased 11-20 you receive price x
Qty Purchased 21-30 you receive price y
Qty Purchased 31-40 you receive price z

But they also have bulk pricing where you buy over a 100 for example and you get price a.

Obviously each item can have up to five different prices based on quantity purchased but any suggestions on how to handle the 6th re bulk?

Thanks in advance for any info posted.

Hi JWH

There is no elegant way to do this.

Typically companies buy an item in bulk and do some packaging. If that is the case for you, then create a new item called Bulk Item A and receive your purchases there. Then when you package it, record the packaging as a stock transfer from Bulk Item A to Item A. That makes pricing easy.

Another possibility, assuming you are not using Alternative Price Lists already, is to create an APL called BULK and enter the bulk pricing there. Then, when a customer buys at the bulk price, you would have to remember to enter BULK in the Price List field so that the correct price would come up. Not only does this force someone to remember to do something, but it makes price updating more complicated.

There are other possibilities, but let's start with these two.

Thanks Steve. We thought of the BULK price list but initially thought it may me too cumbersome. With that said we will test over the weekend and see how it looks.

Thanks for your post.
