Our client upgraded from AR 9.1A to AR 9.2B and the Invoice Batch Listings and Invoice Posting Journals sent to the printer stop for manual tray selection.
This issue was not happening in AR 9.1A.

We upgraded them to AR 9.3A and the problem persist. Other reports from AR, such as Aged Trial Balance or Cash Posting Journal, don't require human intervention to select the tray.

They can print from GL and AP any kind of reports and the tray is automatically selected.

The printer is a multifunction printer Ricoh MP C4503.

Does anybody experience this type of issue with these reports on this or any other multifunction printer?

Hi Patricia:

This sounds exactly like the problem that existed with large multi-function printers. I don't have the time to wrestle with the search function here but there is a lengthy thread in the Dealer Forum (Google won't help) circa fall 2015.

Entirely by coincidence, a client just told me that he experiences this problem when printing the AR Cash Posting Journal. It goes to the wrong tray until he goes to the copier/printer and redirects the print job to the correct tray. They are using a large Toshiba multi-function copier with multiple trays.

Hi Bruce:

I did find the thread now. It did try changing the report printer before but I guess I didn't make it correctly. I put no printer because I don't have the driver of the printer. I guess I just need to put Tray 1; no matter what the printer driver is?

It will be better if Softrak can solve the issue instead. I opened the AP Invoice Batch Listing and I got the message that the printer didn't exist and it will use my default printer. When I opened the AR Invoice Batch Listing report, I didn't get any message and it used my HP3015 printer. Therefore, I am sure both reports have been saved with different printers settings.

PS: I didn't put the link here as it will not be accessible for everybody.

Hi Patricia,

Could you post a screen shot of the "printer didn't exist" message? What is the name of your default printer? If it is long, could you shorten it to something less than 24 characters, and does that make a difference?

Are you using a modified report?

Neither report you name chooses a tray, unless you are running MultiCurrency.

I had a similar situation recently at a client's where AR Batch Listings would always go to the bypass tray (or manual tray). They are using a big multi-tray Toshiba printer. After many attempts in Adagio to fix the issue, a Toshiba Technician was able to resolve it:

A Toshiba technician has figured out that Adagio, like a few other third party software, was only seeing one (top) tray in the printer, which in our case was Ledger, instead of Letter size and that's why it was waiting for letter size papers to be fed in from bypass tray manually. Changing the top tray configuration to Letter size fixed the situation.
