A client who imports orders into Adagio from their webstore is having a problem reconciling the two - they are commonly off by a penny.

They would like to know the exact algorithm for how Adagio computes sales tax. I'm guessing it computes the tax rounded to the nearest penny on each detail line independently, and then sums up the total. As opposed to computing the tax on the total amount taxable, and doing the rounding on the total tax.

They can adjust their webstore to use Adagio's algorithm once they know what it is.

Thanks

Steve

Adagio will calculate the tax on either the total of the invoice or the individual lines. Which option are they using?

Steve:

My recommendation is to use the calculate tax by total option. I believe Adagio then applies standard rounding.

The web store should do the same thing and your rounding issue goes away.
