It's possible to place the Profit and Margin fields on the detail line grid, so you can see those figures by line item. It sure would be nice if, when those fields are there, it would also show the total Profit and the average Margin for the whole quote, just like it shows the total Quote amount.

Along the same lines, it would be nice to see the total Profit and average Margin on the quote grid itself, in addition to the Amount and Extended Cost fields.

We had the same request several years ago.

To resolve, we created a separate internal quote copy with PrintBoss, and printed off the margins as described by line item and by overall quote for the sales manager copy. It was a necessity.

This is a great request. Why wouldn't the margin be available on the grid? It's a very practical piece of info that you should not have to grab a calculator to see info that should be readily available on the screen for review.

Actually, if you have a licenced Gridview, why couldn't Softrak allow you to customize the standard grids with calculated fields, and drop into the application to replace the existing default grid with supplemented calculated fields? That's where we should be heading.
