Hi all,

We upgraded to OE 9.3A (180410) earlier this year and have been noticing that when we perform dayend, it is not automatically appending the date and time on the file that gets generated. We have the box checked that says append date on duplicate. But when we save the file to PDF it pops up overwrite existing file every time.
~
Is there a different way to approach this? We are wanting to be able to run day end and the file will already have the date attached to end of the file as we save it to a PDF
Thank you,
Jason

Hi Jason,

Using OE9.3A and the May 5, 2018 hot fix installed, I was not able to replicate a problem with the date and time not being appended to the PDF file name for the Invoice audit list report. Whether I simply print the audit list report from the menu, or have it auto-print after completing Day End. There is nothing in the hot fix release notes related to this report, so I wouldn't expect installing the hot fix would be the solution here.

If you open the Print Invoice/Credit Note Audit List report from the Order Entry menu, and you choose PDF as the Destination, the File name and conflict options appear. The name of course will not display the date and time and it cannot presume a conflict prior to printing. You should see 'Append date/time' here. If not, click the eP Options button and ensure that the Append date/time option is selected.

Another better strategy would be to put the %DAT code in the file name for the eP Options. This will automatically include the system date as part of the file name, without having to rely on the file conflict strategy. There are a number of other codes you can include in file names and folders when you print reports to PDF.

Sorry for not responding sooner, I have added the %DAT code. I didn't realize this generates a new folder with the date appended rather than on the file, but it still works well enough.
Thank you for your quick response.

Hi Jason,

You can put %DAT on the file name instead of the folder to get what you were more likely hoping for. Such as:

OEAuditList%DAT.PDF
